Biodiversität: Wissen schützt Tiere
Die Reptilienauffangstation München bietet bedrohten Reptilien, Amphibien, Fischen und bestimmten Säugetieren ein geschütztes Zuhause. Als gemeinnütziger Tierschutzverein unter wissenschaftlicher Leitung kombiniert sie Tier- und Artenschutz mit Bildungsarbeit im Sinne der Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE). Dabei stehen Biodiversität, ethische Tiervermittlung und interdisziplinäre Wissensvermittlung im Fokus.

Am 04.02.25 um 13:00 Uhr gibt es einen einstündigen Einführungsvortrag in den Räumen der TUM, anschließend fahren wir gemeinsam mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zur Reptilienauffangstation in der Kaulbachstraße 37 und bekommen eine einstündige, exklusive Führung, bei der die Arbeit der Station, ihre Tiere und die Bedeutung von BNE erlebbar gemacht werden. Die gesamte Veranstaltung findet in englischer Sprache statt und ist kostenlos für Studierende; Interessierte zahlen 15 €. Begrenzt auf 30 Plätze. Im Rahmen der Ringvorlesung Umwelt findet die Vorlesung “Tainted Love: a Dive into the Wildlife Trafficking World” von Juliana Ferreira online statt. Die renommierte Biologin und Expertin für Wildtierkriminalität, beleuchtet die Ursachen, Auswirkungen und Lösungen im Kampf gegen Wildtierhandel. Die Veranstaltung ist für alle zugänglich.

Biodiversity: Knowledge protects animals
The Munich Reptile Sanctuary provides a protected home for endangered reptiles, amphibians, fish and certain mammals. As a non-profit animal protection association under scientific management, it combines animal and species protection with educational work in the sense of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The focus is on biodiversity, ethical animal education and interdisciplinary knowledge transfer.
Tuesday, 04.02.2025 | 13.00-16.30 | Meeting point: TUM main campus, N2408 in building N4, 2nd floor
On 04.02.25 at 13:00 there will be a one-hour introductory lecture in the rooms of the TUM, afterwards we will travel together by public transport to the reptile sanctuary at Kaulbachstraße 37 and get a one-hour exclusive guided tour, during which the work of the station, its animals and the importance of ESD will be brought to life. The entire event will be held in English and is free for students; everyone else pays €15. Limited to 30 places. Please note: The reptile sanctuary is not barrier-free. As part of the lecture series Environment, the lecture “Tainted Love: a Dive into the Wildlife Trafficking World” by Juliana Ferreira will take place online. The renowned biologist and expert on wildlife crime will shed light on the causes, effects and solutions in the fight against wildlife trafficking. The event is open to all.
